Warning: I skip the full insulation pack in wet crawl spaces
I know most guys jam insulation into every corner, but that just asks for trouble in damp areas. Last spring, I had to redo a whole basement because the packed insulation held moisture and rotted the joists. Now I use a lighter touch near foundations where water seeps in. It still keeps the cold out but lets the wood breathe. Sure, some inspectors might question it, but I haven't had a mold complaint since. Honestly, fighting nature with a ton of fluffy stuff is a losing game.
