Showerthought: People keep messing up the first plank on a glue-down vinyl job
I see guys start in a corner and work out. That's wrong. You need to snap two chalk lines from the center of the room. Did a 400 sq ft kitchen last week. If you don't, the planks will run crooked by the far wall. I use a 100 foot tape and a laser to find the exact middle. Takes ten extra minutes but saves hours of pulling up adhesive later. Anyone have a different method for getting that first row perfect?

Center of the room is the only way to go. Starting in a corner guarantees you'll fight the walls the whole time. That laser line trick is a total game changer for keeping things straight.

Yeah, that laser line trick sounds smart. My buddy tried the corner start in his living room and had to pull up like twenty feet of planks when he hit the far wall. He said it was a total mess with the adhesive.

Started from the center myself and man, that saved so much headache with the adhesive cleanup.
