Read a study that said flooring installers have one of the highest injury rates in construction
Honestly, I was looking up something else on a government work safety site last week and saw a chart. It said flooring installers have a 7.2% injury rate, which is way above the average for other trades. Tbh, it kind of shook me because you always hear about roofers or framers being the risky jobs. I guess all the kneeling and material handling really adds up. Has anyone else seen this or had a close call that made you change how you work?

Wow, that number doesn't surprise me one bit. My brother-in-law did flooring for years and his knees are just shot now, constant pain. He also sliced his hand wide open on a utility knife trimming some laminate. I remember him saying the heavy rolls of carpet were the worst, throwing out his back trying to carry them up stairs. It's a tough job that really wears on the body over time.
