I thought click lock vinyl was just a gimmick for DIYers

Had a client in Tacoma last month who bought a box store brand and insisted we use it for their whole basement. I figured it would feel cheap and shift over time. We laid about 800 square feet, and after a full week of heavy foot traffic from their kids, not a single seam has popped or shown any give. The locking mechanism is way stronger than I gave it credit for. What's another product you all wrote off that actually held up?
