Vent: I used to think post-event surveys were a waste of paper
My boss kept pushing them for our vendor showcases in Austin and I pushed back hard. Figured nobody reads them and they just annoy attendees. Then last month she showed me the data from our June expo - 42% said the coffee cart placement was terrible and we literally lost foot traffic near the main stage. Fixed that for the August event and booth engagement jumped by like 30%. Has anyone else been proven dead wrong by a simple feedback form?

Pulled a similar move at a conference in Phoenix where I ignored feedback about the AC being too cold and half the crowd left by lunch, so yeah @the_cameron those forms can sneak up and save the day.

Honestly I once ignored a feedback form that literally saved a wedding from being a total disaster.

One time I was helping plan my cousin's backyard wedding and we sent out a quick feedback form to guests a week before. Most people just said the food was fine or whatever but one guy wrote a whole paragraph about how the caterer we picked had a history of mixing up kosher and non-kosher meals at events. I almost deleted it because it seemed like a random complaint but I checked their reviews and turns out yep there were like 8 people saying the same thing. We switched caterers last minute and it was a pain but the day itself there were zero issues and the bride's religious family was super relieved. Those forms feel like junk mail sometimes but when someone takes the time to write something specific you gotta pay attention.
