Overheard a speaker at a conference in Austin say email blasts are dead. Here's my take.
I was at a marketing summit last month and this guy on stage said email is useless for events now and everyone clapped. I think he's totally wrong. We sent a simple reminder email to our list of 2,400 people for a workshop we ran in Dallas and got 187 RSVPs from that one message. Sure, social media got us some buzz but the actual signups came from email. Has anyone else seen email still pull solid numbers for event attendance recently?

Oh, I have to ask - did the speaker offer any actual data to back up that claim, or was it just him talking? Because our numbers tell a different story too; we sent a simple email to about 3,000 people for a small conference in San Antonio and saw a 15% click rate on the registration link. I'm genuinely curious if he's just repeating a trendy take without real evidence, or if there's something I'm missing.

The real trick is pairing email with a phone call follow up. Did the speaker mention any data backing up that claim?

Wait, so they didn't actually share any numbers or studies behind that claim? I mean, email with a phone call follow up sounds like common sense, but without any data it's just someone's opinion. Like, how do we know it's not just making people annoyed instead of helping sales? Maybe it's just me but I'd want to see at least a survey or something before I start doubling up on my outreach.
