Last year I had to pick between a pop-up tent or a trailer for our street fairs

I manage our brand's booth setup for events in Portland, and we had a budget for just one thing. A 10x10 pop-up tent costs around $400 and fits in a car, but a small trailer runs $3k and needs towing. I went with the trailer thinking it'd look more pro, and it did get more foot traffic. But setup took 45 minutes instead of 10, and I got a parking ticket day one because it counts as a vehicle. Has anyone else dealt with the trailer upkeep being way more annoying than they expected?

Oh wow, I have to disagree pretty strongly here. The trailer was the wrong call for a street fair setup, and I think you're learning that the hard way. Pop-up tents are the standard for a reason. They're cheap to replace if damaged, nobody thinks they look unprofessional at a local event, and the time savings alone justify the choice. Plus, with a trailer, you're locked into that one size and shape, and you have to store it year-round. A pop-up folds up small and you can stash it in a closet. If you get a parking ticket on day one, that's already eating into any perceived goodwill from the "professional" look. I'd rather spend those 35 extra minutes relaxing or connecting with customers, not messing with a tow vehicle.

Oh man, reminds me of the time I spent an hour untangling a pop-up tent in a parking lot.
