I finally stopped overdesigning my event booths and sales actually went up
So for like 3 years I was doing these massive custom booths with all these fancy lights and video walls for trade shows. Each one cost around $8,000 to build and ship. Last spring I tried something totally different for a show in Austin - just some clean banners, a simple table setup, and a QR code to a landing page. My lead capture went up by 40% and I saved a ton on labor. I think people were just overwhelmed by all the flashy stuff before. Has anyone else found that simpler setups actually work better for conversion rates?

Dude, the "overwhelmed by flashy stuff" part is so true. I did the same thing at a few home shows, had all this gear and nonsense, then went with just a clean setup and a little tv loop. Generated way more real conversations, not just people wanting free swag.

Wait, you're telling me people actually walk up to those crazy booth setups with all the lights and freebies just to grab a pen and leave? That's wild, I thought everyone saw through that by now.
