Had to choose between free food samples and a paid influencer booth at my last event

I was booking vendors for a local street fair in Austin and had to pick between a free food truck sample setup and a $300 paid booth for a guy with 50k followers. I went with the food samples because it felt safer, but the crowd loved it and we got way more foot traffic than the paid booth did. Anyone else ever skip the influencer route and come out ahead?

Stick with the real food every time. I've seen those influencer booths burn through budgets with barely any return while a good taco truck draws a crowd that actually spends money. You made the smart call, results don't lie.

Oh tell me about it, I've seen the same thing play out at events I've helped organize. Those flashy influencer setups always look great on paper but they never seem to actually move the needle on sales. A humble taco truck or local food vendor just hits different, people actually stop and buy instead of just grabbing a freebie and moving on.

(@jamesm48) Totally agree, real food always wins over fake clout. @xena1 knows what's up, free samples get people to actually open their wallets instead of just snapping a selfie. The only thing those influencer booths are good for is making you second-guess your life choices.
