Went to the new digital gallery space downtown and totally changed my mind about projection art

I used to think it was so gimmicky but seeing those huge pieces on the walls at the old warehouse on 5th Street... the way the light moved made the whole room feel alive. Has anyone else had their opinion flipped by seeing something in person instead of just on a screen?

Yeah I used to lump projection art in with those cheesy light shows at planetariums. Then I walked into a gallery where the piece actually reacted to people moving through the space, felt pretty stupid for judging it based on Instagram videos. Turns out seeing something bigger than your living room wall changes the whole experience.

Oh man, that's the thing nobody talks about - the scale tricks your brain into thinking it's real. You can't fake that "holy crap this is happening right in front of me" feeling on a screen.

Did you try standing in the back corner for a couple minutes, cause that totally shifted how I saw the thing?
