Watermark debate: 50% opacity or full block? Found a stat that shook me
Was browsing a portfolio roundup last night and saw that 63% of artists who post full watermarks get less engagement than ones with subtle ones. Found it in some analytics blog for illustrators. Full block makes it harder to steal but people also scroll past it like it's spam. Subtle lets your work breathe but anyone can crop it out in 5 seconds. Where do you guys land on this for your showcase pieces, do you prioritize protection or visibility?

That line about people scrolling past it like spam is the real killer. Same thing happens on instagram, the algorithm sees quick scroll pasts and buries you, so a full block watermark can tank your reach twice. I've been doing a small corner mark at like 30% and just accepting that a determined thief will crop it.
