PSA: I had to pick between a Wacom Cintiq and an iPad Pro for my main art tool last year.

Went with the iPad because I needed something portable for drawing at the park, and it's been great for quick sketches. I still use my desktop for final pieces, but the iPad changed my whole workflow. Anyone else choose a tablet over a dedicated screen?

Yeah, I read an article about how a lot of pros are doing that now, using an iPad for the initial work. Makes total sense for portability.

My Cintiq is basically a fancy paperweight since I got an iPad. The park bench is my new studio.

That "park bench is my new studio" line really hits home. It's like how I stopped carrying a big camera because my phone is always in my pocket. We used to need a whole setup for things, but now the best tool is often the simplest one that's already with you. I see it with people reading books on their phones instead of carrying a paperback. The fancy, single-purpose stuff just stays on the shelf.
