My tablet pen died mid digital portrait and it was actually a blessing

So last Tuesday I was working on this big digital portrait I was going to show off in the community showcase, and right as I was adding the final eye highlights my Wacom pen just stopped working completely. I spent 20 minutes panicking, checking the battery, restarting the software, nothing worked. Turns out I just had to twist the nib area a little to reconnect it, but in that forced break I looked at the screen and realized I had been overworking the shadows. I ended up deleting 3 layers and the final piece looked way cleaner. Has anyone else had a tech fail that somehow saved your art?

Read something similar from a digital artist friend who said the same thing happened to them.

Honestly, was your friend able to get the platform to actually do anything about it? Tbh that's always the part I'm curious about - if the reporting system actually works or if it's just for show. Ngl seems like these sites rarely side with the original creator when the stolen work gets popular.
