I finally tried posting my art on a proper portfolio site instead of Instagram

Last month I put together a simple site on a free platform and the first comment I got was from an art director who wanted to license a piece. Has anyone else seen better results when they stopped relying on social media algorithms?

first comment was from an art director" - yeah algorithms are a crapshoot, having your own site just works better.

Think you meant "crap shoot" not "crap shoot" - it's actually two words.

yeah but does it really matter that much? like we all knew what they meant, it's not that deep. reddit grammar police are something else lmao. half the time people type in a hurry and autocorrect messes stuff up anyway. the whole "actually it's two words" thing just feels like looking for something to correct. the real point about algorithms being a crapshoot (or crap shoot whatever) and owning your site still stands. maybe just let people type how they type, you know?
