I finally solved a simple lighting glitch that ate up 4 hours
Spent 4 hours trying to fix a shadow that just wouldn't go away in a vector piece. Turned out it was just a forgotten transparency layer I'd added 3 days earlier. Has anyone else wasted half a day on something that basic?

honestly I used to think that kind of thing only happened to beginners, but after spending like 6 hours on a vector file once just to find out I had a hidden clipping mask from weeks ago... yeah that changed my mind real quick. it's crazy how easy it is to forget a simple layer or setting and then just spiral into blaming the program or your skills. I mean, it's almost worse when you finally find it because you feel so dumb for not noticing earlier. at least now I triple check my layers panel before diving into any big fixes.

Six hours on a hidden clipping mask? Oh man, that is brutal. I have never sunk that much time into something like that but I can feel the frustration from here. It's one of those things where you just assume it's a bigger issue and you go down a rabbit hole of testing everything else first. And then you find it and you just sit there staring at the screen like, really? That was it the whole time? I swear those hidden layers have a personal vendetta against us.
