Had my display tablet screen go totally dead mid-project on a commission...

I was working on a portrait commission last Tuesday night, about 3 hours in, and my Huion screen just went black. Like no flicker, no warning, just dead. I thought it was the cable at first cause those USB-C ones can be finicky, so I tried switching ports and even used a different cable from my phone charger. Nothing worked. Turns out the power board inside the tablet just gave up. I had to finish the piece on my old regular monitor with a mouse which was awful, took me twice as long. Has anyone else had a display tablet fail right in the middle of a tight deadline? I'm debating between getting a replacement board or just saving up for a newer model.

Bought a used replacement board on eBay and it fixed mine for cheap.

Oh man, that's brutal. I had a buddy who got hit with something similar on his XP-Pen like a year ago, right in the middle of a 24 hour comic challenge. He was like 6 hours in and the display just gave him the blue screen of death out of nowhere. He ended up having to finish his pages on a tiny laptop screen with a trackpad, said it felt like drawing with a bar of soap. The replacement board route worked for him actually, he got one from some sketchy looking site for like 40 bucks and it's been running fine ever since. I'd probably look into that first unless you've been wanting to upgrade anyway.
