Thought the HOA drone story was fake until my neighbor in Mesa showed me the flight logs
A guy on my block kept saying our HOA hired a drone service to spot unapproved paint colors and tall grass. I laughed it off for 4 months, mostly because it sounded like classic internet paranoia. Then he pulled up 3 flights from October on his phone, all with the address of our cul-de-sac in Mesa and timestamps right after the last complaint letters went out. Anyone else ever verify a wild claim with actual paperwork like that?
Saw a story last year out of Texas where a guy FOIA'd his city and found the code enforcement office had a $15k contract with a drone outfit called SkyWatch or something like that. They were doing weekly flyovers of neighborhoods flagged for "repeat violations." The part that got me was the contract said they had to keep the footage for two years. I'd check if Mesa has any public records on drone vendors before assuming it's just the HOA. Those flight logs your neighbor has are the kind of thing that would hold up if you sent them to the city or a local reporter.
