The moon landing faking theory never made sense to me until I saw that one film
I used to just laugh off anyone who brought up the moon landing being faked... figured it was too big to pull off. But then I watched that old movie 'Capricorn One' from 1978 and it got me thinking about how Hollywood had the tech back then to fake stuff. Still, the sheer number of people who'd have to keep quiet seems impossible to me. On one hand, the telemetry data and rock samples seem solid. On the other hand, why did they lose the original tapes? What do you guys think, is there any real evidence that holds up beyond the surface level?

Wait, @wesley_martin are you telling me the retroreflectors are still there and working? Like anyone with a laser can check it? That's wild. I always heard about the rocks matching volcanic stuff from Earth but never heard about the mirrors. That seems like something that would be way harder to fake than video footage or even telemetry. The Russians had their own tracking stations too, right? They would have called it out immediately if it was all staged. That alone kind of settles it for me.

Honestly @wesley_martin you brought up exactly what changed my mind too. I heard about those retroreflectors on a podcast a while back and I was like wait, you can literally prove people were there with a laser pointer basically? That's way harder to fake than some grainy footage or even the rocks. The Russians tracking it is the real clincher for me, they had no reason to play nice and would have been all over calling it out if they could. As for the tapes, yeah I read they just got taped over for satellite stuff, which is dumb but totally believable for government storage practices back then.

The tape thing is actually simpler than people make it. They had a limited budget for storage and reused them for satellite data because nobody thought anyone would care decades later. If you want to dig into something that actually holds up, look at the retroreflectors left on the moon. Any observatory can bounce a laser off them and confirm they're there. Those weren't planted by a movie set.
