Spent 4 hours in a hotel lobby in Cleveland trying to prove the 9/11 truther guy next to me wrong with actual flight path data from a NASA archive I pulled up on my phone.

He just kept saying 'but the towers fell too fast' and wouldn't look at a single screenshot I showed him, how do you even argue with someone who refuses to check the source?

Wasted a whole afternoon man, but I did get a free cup of coffee from the hotel staff who felt bad for me, so that's a win I guess? @derek994 you're right though, I should've just walked away after the first ten minutes when he started explaining how jet fuel can't melt steel beams, but I was in too deep and my ego wouldn't let me quit. Next time I see a guy with a truther hat in a lobby I'm just gonna ask him about the Browns' quarterback situation and watch him disappear faster than the evidence he needs.

Listen man, I gotta ask - is it really that serious? You spent 4 hours trying to change a guy's mind who probably wasn't even going to remember your face five minutes after you walked away. People like that don't want facts, they want a fight, and you gave him four hours of your life for free. Sometimes the smartest move is just saying "cool story" and walking off to get a coffee or something. You can't fact check someone who doesn't believe in facts to begin with, you know? Did you at least get some work done or just waste a whole afternoon?

Nah I gotta disagree with you there @derek994. Sometimes the waste of time is the whole point, you know? Like I've gotten into dumb arguments at the laundromat and it killed an hour but I had nothing better to do anyway. If that guy was stuck in a lobby with nothing going on, four hours of arguing beats four hours of staring at his phone scrolling through ads.
