Shoutout to the neighbor who uses a leaf blower at 7am every Saturday - you made me switch to a rake
This guy next door in my cul-de-sac has been blowing his driveway every weekend for like 8 months straight. I used to think rakes were for old people and leaf blowers were the PRO way to go. But after 3 weekends of waking up to that noise at 6:58am, I grabbed a $12 rake from Ace Hardware last Saturday. Took me 22 minutes to do the same job he does in 15 with the blower. But here's the thing - no noise, no gas smell, and I actually got some exercise. Has anyone else ditched power tools for old school methods after getting annoyed by a neighbor?

My neighbor Mr. Henderson starts his leaf blower at 6:47am on the dot, I know because I've watched the clock while lying there fuming. I bought a $15 rake from the hardware store and now I'm out there at 5:30am on Saturdays, just raking away in the dark like a total weirdo. It takes me about 20 minutes longer than his blower job, but my arms are starting to look kind of okay (which is saying something, since I usually struggle to open a pickle jar). Plus I can hear the birds instead of that miserable engine noise, which is nice. Now I'm one of those old people with a rake, and honestly I'm fine with it.

Rakes are the real deal. I had a neighbor two houses down who would leaf blow his entire yard at 6:45am on Sundays. My kid was a baby back then and that thing would wake him up crying every single time. So I got a rake and a push mower. Now I actually like the quiet time in the morning. That 22 minutes you spent is also 22 minutes of not breathing in gas fumes and dust. Plus you can do it at 5am if you want and nobody cares. The old school way just makes more sense now.
