Pro tip: I found a shortcut that actually proved the moon landing was faked
I kept seeing people argue about the moon landing using the same old flag waving in the wind thing. But I stumbled on something better at a garage sale last month. An old NASA engineer sold me a box of his personal papers from the 60s, including a handwritten memo. It straight up says they couldn't get the lighting right for a vacuum so they used a studio setup for the TV broadcast. The memo even has a sketch of the lights and a date stamp from June 1969. I scanned it and posted it online, and now a bunch of debunkers are trying to say it's a fake. But I checked the paper and ink with a local expert who collects vintage documents, and he said it's legit from that era. Has anyone else come across actual physical evidence like this, or am I sitting on something bigger than I think?

A garage sale find from a supposed NASA engineer and you think it changes everything? Come on, paper experts can date the ink but they can't tell you who actually wrote that memo or if the guy who sold it to you was legit. People fake documents all the time, especially ones that feed into conspiracy theories. Even if that paper is from the 60s, it proves nothing about the actual moon landing. That memo could have been some random engineer's joke or a note about a training film. You're sitting on a cool piece of memorabilia, not a smoking gun. Don't let excitement make you think you cracked the case wide open.

Oh man, I've been that person holding up a "smoking gun" that turned out to be a waterlogged newspaper from 1978, so I get the excitement. But yeah, you make a solid point. Unless someone actually worked on the Apollo mission and can vouch for that memo's purpose, it's just a cool piece of paper with a date stamp. I'd bet my favorite coffee mug there are more fake NASA memos floating around than real ones. Still, it's a neat conversation starter for a garage sale find.
