Overheard my neighbor say the moon landings were faked because there's no wind on the moon

I was at a cookout last Saturday and my neighbor Dave, who fixes lawn mowers for a living, told me the moon landings were definitely faked. He said the flag waving proves it because there's no air on the moon. I didn't even know where to start, but it got me thinking about how people latch onto one weird detail and build a whole conspiracy around it. Has anyone else run into someone who uses a single fact to argue against a mountain of evidence?

@emery_young13 exactly, and the weird thing is how people don't stop to think that detail through. My buddy Mark runs a small engine repair shop and he had a customer who swore the whole thing was staged because the moon rocks brought back looked "too clean." Mark tried explaining that volcanic rock can look like that but the guy just kept saying "no way they look like parking lot gravel." Some people just pick one thing and won't budge no matter what you show them.

The flag waving thing is such a tired argument.
