Overheard a guy at Home Depot say 9/11 was an inside job because the steel melted wrong
He was dead serious about how building 7 fell and I didn't know what to say back. Has anyone actually looked into that steel melting point stuff or is it just internet noise?

Read a civil engineer breaking it down once - the steel doesn't have to melt, just get hot enough to lose its strength, and the fires were plenty hot for that. Building 7 had a totally different design and got hit with way more debris than people realize.

Wait, did he actually say the steel melted? That's the whole thing that gets me - it didn't melt. It got hot and weakened, which is totally different and totally normal. I looked up the melting point thing once and it's like people confuse "metal getting soft from heat" with "turning into a liquid puddle.
