My silly nod to a bird drone conspiracy caused more trouble than I thought

At our block party, my neighbor claimed all birds are government drones. I tried to argue with him using basic facts, but he just got more worked up. To keep things calm, I fake agreed and said his idea might be right. Two other folks overheard and now they believe it too. I feel guilty for not sticking to the truth. It's a weird spot where being nice caused more problems. This whole mess has me thinking about right and wrong in these talks.

lol @holly713 has a point about it being harmless fun. My cousin once got deep into a theory that clouds were just big pillows.

Man, that reminds me of the time my uncle tried to convince us squirrels were spies.

You mentioned feeling guilty about "right and wrong in these talks," but honestly, how much harm is this doing? It's a silly idea about bird drones, not a lie about something that actually hurts people. Sometimes people believe weird stuff for fun. If they start trying to catch pigeons to look for serial numbers, then maybe step in. But for now, it's just a funny story for the next block party. You were just keeping the peace over something that doesn't really matter.
