I finally got my dad to stop believing that moon landing hoax by showing him the retroreflector experiment from the Apollo 11 site.

After he kept going on about the flag waving and the shadows, I found a video from the Apache Point Observatory in New Mexico that shows them bouncing a laser off the mirrors left up there, and he just stared at the screen for a minute and said, 'Well... that's pretty hard to fake.'

Wait, they can bounce a laser off it from New Mexico? I always pictured needing a huge NASA laser, not a regular observatory. That's actually wild.

My mind was blown when I learned the same thing. I always assumed it needed a massive, special setup too. The fact that a regular telescope with a laser can hit those little reflectors up there really sold me on it being real.

Wow, that retroreflector proof is basically the one thing they can't debunk.
