Hit exactly 666 followers on my channel last week and it threw me off

I run a small gardening channel where I just post videos of me composting and planting tomatoes. Last Tuesday I checked my stats and saw 666 followers right at midnight. I know it's just a number but it felt so weird I took a screenshot and didn't post anything for two days. Has anyone else hit a milestone number that made them stop and think?

That's a pretty funny one. 666 followers right at midnight feels like the universe is playing a little joke on you. Maybe it's a sign that your composting videos are too good - you're summoning something from the soil. I'd have probably taken the screenshot too, just to prove it happened. Honestly, I'd lean into it and do a video on Halloween about "demonic dirt" or something, get some views out of it.

@nancybailey that's the kind of thinking that gets a channel noticed. Lean into the weird stuff, people love that. You could even make a whole series out of it, like "supernatural pest control" or "haunted harvest" or something, just run with the bit and see how far it goes.

Used to roll my eyes at people chasing weird angles for clicks, always figured good content would just find its audience on its own. But seeing how many folks actually jump on stuff like demonic dirt or haunted harvest makes me wonder if I was being too stubborn about it. There's something to be said for having fun with the whole thing instead of trying to be so serious all the time. Maybe leaning into those oddball hooks is what separates a channel that grows from one that just sits there. What's the weirdest idea you've seen actually take off?
