Switching from JavaScript to Python for my first real project

I had to choose between JavaScript and Python for my first coding project, a simple weather app, and I went with Python after a buddy told me it's easier to read for beginners. Three weeks in I'm glad I did because the syntax is way less confusing, but now I'm wondering if I should have learned JavaScript first since it's everywhere online.

You said "it's everywhere online" but do you actually want to build websites?

Ha, not if I want to keep my sanity.

Nah, I gotta push back a little on that. Building sites isn't gonna wreck your sanity if you take it slow. Plenty of drag and drop builders out there now. Squarespace, Wix, all that stuff makes it pretty painless. You can learn the basics in a weekend if you're patient. Watch some YouTube tutorials. Pick one simple layout. Just get something up that works. The real headache comes from trying to build something huge right off the bat. That's when people burn out. Start small. A single page portfolio. A landing page for a hobby. Then add more later if you want. Most people expect way too much from their first site. Keep it simple and you'll be fine.

Squarespace's mobile editor is still clunky, though, even for simple sites.
