Spent an hour at a coding meetup in Austin yesterday and noticed something weird

I went to this free coding workshop at a coffee shop downtown, and every single person there was using Python. Like not one person was working on JavaScript or HTML. Is it just me or is Python taking over everything for beginners now?

Man I went to a similar thing in San Antonio last month and it was all Python too, wild.

So like @adam_adams, is the whole "automate the boring stuff" actually enough to land a decent job, or do you need deeper skills to really stand out? Cause I keep hearing mixed things about how much coding is just enough vs. too little.
