Seeing all the kids at the community center use drag-and-drop coding has me wondering if we're making it TOO easy for beginners.
Some say visual tools OPEN doors for new coders, but others worry they BYPASS core concepts, so what's your stance?

Read something about them missing key skills like debugging later.

Miles72 has a point about the debugging part. Those tools can build confidence at the start, but they do hide how the code actually works. It's a great first step to get folks interested without the scary syntax. The trick is making sure there's a clear next step into writing real code later on.

Eric's "great first step" thing is like saying training wheels teach you bike physics lol. They get you rolling without face-planting, but nobody learns balance until those little wheels come off. You gotta swap to real wheels eventually or you'll never actually ride.
