I used to think you had to memorize every single function before writing a line of code.
After I built a simple calculator last month, I realized you just need to know how to look stuff up and start building. What's a small project that helped you get over a learning block?

Ever notice how this applies to everything, like cooking or fixing stuff around the house? I got stuck trying to learn guitar until I just tried to play one simple song all the way through. Suddenly all the chords I was trying to memorize separately started making sense together. It's like you need that one small finished thing to see how the pieces connect.

I always tried to master the parts first, but you're right about needing a whole project to see how they fit.

Oh man, that guitar example hits home... so when you finally played that whole song, did you feel like you had to go back and re-learn the chords the "right" way after, or did just using them in context finally make them stick?
