I called the freeCodeCamp Python course a waste of time for 6 months, then my dispatcher saw my fuel log spreadsheet
I kept putting off learning Python because the freeCodeCamp course looked too basic, but after 3 weeks of it I wrote a 40-line script that tracks my fuel stops and it saved me about $200 in bad fuel buys last month. Did anyone else think free resources were a joke until they actually tried one?
Did you ever feel like one of those guys who swears a tool is junk before he even takes it out of the box? That was me with free courses, I figured if it didn't cost money it couldn't teach me anything. Then I sat down and actually finished a few lessons and pretty quick I was writing little scripts that did real stuff for me. Funny how actually trying something beats having a strong opinion about it.
