Traded my SUV for a cargo bike 2 years ago and now I actually enjoy my commute
Used to drive 12 miles each way to work in Austin traffic, burning through a tank of gas every 4 days. Switched to an electric cargo bike after I totaled up my yearly costs and saw $2,400 just in fuel. Now I get there in 35 minutes rain or shine and my legs don't feel like breaking off from sitting in a metal box. Anyone else swap out a car for a bike and find it way less annoying than you expected?

35 minutes rain or shine for 12 miles? That adds up in Texas summer. Sunscreen and sweat must be a daily battle. Different strokes I guess.

Yeah I feel you on that. The Texas heat is no joke, I grew up down near Houston and I remember how brutal those summers were. Running in that kind of humidity and sun is a whole different beast, you're basically cooking yourself while trying to move. I can't imagine keeping up a 35 minute pace in that without stopping to dump water on your head every mile. Props to anyone who can stick with it but I'd be lying if I said it sounded fun.

Eh, feels a bit dramatic. Sweat and sunscreen aren't exactly a crisis, that's just Tuesday.
