That $200 rain barrel I installed last summer finally paid off
My water bill jumped like crazy during the dry spell. Figured I'd try one of those 50 gallon rain barrels from the hardware store. Cost me about 200 bucks after fittings and a stand. Saved my garden during that two month stretch without rain. Anyone else got one and actually seen savings on their bill?

It's funny how one smart buy can ripple out like that, makes you wonder what else we're overpaying for without realizing it.
