Question about the week my block cut its trash to one bag per house
Our street in Portland tried a little experiment after a neighbor ran the numbers on how much food we all toss. For seven days, 14 households weighed their kitchen scraps before bin day and we logged it on a shared sheet, and the total came to 96 pounds. I started composting in a $30 tumbler on my back porch and my trash can went from full to about a third. The weird part was how fast it became normal, nobody complained after day two. Any of you tried a block level weigh in like this, and did your numbers surprise you?
