Question about the $500 I put into a home energy audit last fall
The guy found a ton of air leaks around my windows and doors (which I never would have spotted myself). After sealing them up with some basic caulk and weather stripping, my heating bill dropped by almost 30% this winter. Has anyone else done an audit and been surprised by what they found?

That drop in your heating bill is huge, good for you. My audit found the same thing with the windows, but the real shocker was the attic. The guy showed me how my insulation had settled so much it was basically useless in some spots. Adding a few bags of blown-in cellulose up there made the whole second floor way more comfortable. It's wild what you can't see just living in a place every day.

Right? It's like that with so many stuff in a house. You don't notice the slow change until someone points it out, then it seems so obvious.
