Opted for the heat pump over a new furnace, and my winter bill in Boise went from $180 to $95
My old gas furnace finally quit last October so I had to pick fast between another one or a cold climate heat pump, and I went with the pump after a neighbor showed me his numbers. The install ran me $6,200 after a $2,000 rebate from my utility, and it still puts out heat when it is 5 degrees outside. Now I am wondering if anyone else in a cold state made the switch and how it held up in a real cold snap.
