My new electric leaf blower died after 3 uses in Portland

I bought this fancy battery powered blower to replace my gas one, thinking it would be better for the air and quieter for my neighbors. The second time I used it, the battery wouldn't hold a charge past 10 minutes. By the third try last Saturday, it just stopped working completely. I ended up borrowing my neighbor's rake and doing it the old way, which honestly wasn't that bad. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand of electric yard tools that actually last?

I have the Stihl battery blower and its been going strong for two years now. Bought it after my neighbor let me try his, he uses his for everything. Honestly sounds like you got a lemon, which happens sometimes with the cheaper brands. I hear people complain about the ones from big box stores all the time at my shop. The battery tech is still catching up to gas power, but the good ones last if you treat them right. Raking is fine but my back can't take it anymore, I'll stick with the blower.

My neighbor uses his dog as a leaf blower, no joke, chases them around the yard.
