My neighbor's yard went from a brown patch to a bug party in one summer
Honestly, last spring they ripped out their whole lawn and just threw down a bunch of local wildflower seeds. For like two months it just looked like a weird dirt lot. Then in July, boom, it exploded with color. The real change was the noise, it went totally silent to this constant buzzing from all the bees and butterflies. Has anyone else tried a no-lawn thing and been surprised by how fast the bugs show up?

My cousin in Arizona did something similar with a gravel and cactus garden. The first summer, she had more lizards in her yard than I've seen in my whole life. They just showed up out of nowhere to eat all the new bugs.

That's awesome, nature just moves in when you give it a spot. Put out a few flat rocks in sunny spots and you'll have your own lizard crew in no time.

Wait, more lizards than you've seen in your whole life? That's wild. I'm trying to picture a yard just crawling with them. Like, on the fence, under every plant, sunning on the driveway... all from just some gravel and cactus? That's crazy how fast they move in.
