My compost bin taught me more than any climate doc ever did

Started composting in March just to cut landfill waste. 3 months in I found out my bin was full of worms doing all the work. I thought worms were just for fishing but these little guys broke down everything including my failed avocado pits. Now I actually check my trash before tossing stuff. Does anyone else find themselves weirdly protective of their compost pile?
