Vent: Got locked out of my rental viewing in Logan Square last month
I had a 10am appointment to see a 2-bedroom apartment I found on a listing site, but the landlord never showed up and didn't answer my calls. I stood outside for 45 minutes in the rain before giving up and heading home. Has anyone else had trouble with landlords ghosting on scheduled showings around here?

Honestly, is it possible you had the wrong day or time? I've had landlords mix up appointments before, not saying its right but it happens.

Funny you mention that, because it reminds me of the time my daughter was trying to rent a place in Wicker Park a few years back. She showed up at the right time, right address, and the landlord was there but he had double-booked himself with three other people. We ended up all standing in the hallway while he tried to remember which unit was vacant. It turned out he had two different listings mixed up and kept apologizing about his phone battery dying. I suppose the point is, renting in this city can be a real circus sometimes, and you just never know what you're going to get with these small-time landlords.
