Vent: Changed my whole plan after talking to a Lakeview landlord

I was set on renting a high rise downtown until I ran into this guy fixing a stoop in Lakeview. He told me the commute from there is only 25 minutes and you actually get a backyard. Has anyone else changed their neighborhood at the last minute?

Ran into a guy painting his fence in Rogers Park once and ended up renting a studio two blocks away. Never would have looked there otherwise. Funny how a random conversation can totally change your plans.
