Rant: Getting my car registered in Chicago took 4 months

I moved from Ohio back in January and thought I'd just swap plates at the DMV like normal. Turns out Illinois made me get a city sticker AND a residency proof letter, plus they lost my paperwork TWICE. Has anyone else dealt with the Secretary of State office taking forever for out of state transfers?

Wait wait, 4 months actually went by?? That's wild to me, I would have cracked way before that honestly. No way I'm sitting on that kind of frustration for almost half a year without saying something lol.
