PSA: The Metra schedules change in winter and nobody told me

Moved to Ravenswood last October. Spent 3 weeks missing my train by 10 minutes every morning. Finally asked a coworker why the schedule was useless. Turns out the winter schedule starts in November with earlier times. Never saw a sign about it. Anyone else get burned by seasonal schedule changes?

Who thinks to check that?" Me, apparently, but only because I once missed a train in Evanston so bad I ended up in Kenosha. Not kidding. Conductor didn't even bat an eye when I asked where we were. Anyway, @the_thomas is right about Ravenswood being bad with signs. I lived near there for a bit and the only thing they posted was a handwritten note taped to the ticket machine. Got rained on and turned into a wet paper blob by noon. Now I just set a calendar reminder for November 1st like a paranoid person.

Wait they just don't tell you? That's wild. Did you check the station boards or the app at all? I got burned by the same thing two years ago on the UP-N line. Showed up at 7:45 like always, train was long gone. Didn't see a single flyer or email about it. The conductor said they post the new schedules online in October. But who thinks to check that? What station do you leave from? I swear Ravenswood is one of the worst for communication on this stuff.
