Pro tip: skip the online apartment tours, fly out to Chicago first
I looked at twelve places on video tours for a move to Chicago and picked one in Lakeview that looked great online. When I showed up, the radiator clanked all night and the hallway smelled like bleach and old carpet. Then I flew out for a weekend with 3 days of in person viewings and found a place in Edgewater for $1,450 that was way quieter. Seeing units in person matters more than good photos and a smooth tour call. Has anyone else had a video tour lie to them?
