Paid $150 for a 'move-in ready' apartment that had a surprise fridge situation
Found a spot in Logan Square that looked perfect in the photos, but after I signed and moved in last month, the fridge was literally held shut with a bungee cord. The listing agent just shrugged and said 'it works'. I lost the deposit trying to break the lease, plus the $150 I spent on a temp fridge from a guy on Craigslist that died after 2 days. Anyone else get burned by those 'too good to be true' listings around here?

Wait, did your agent at least take the bungee cord off before showing the place, or was that part of the "charm"? I had a similar thing in Lakeview where the stove was held together with duct tape and the landlord swore it was "vintage" lol.
