Moved from Logan Square to Lincoln Park and the vibe shift was wild
I spent 4 years in Logan Square and loved the gritty artsy scene, but after my rent jumped $600 in one year I had to bounce. Landed in Lincoln Park 3 months ago and it's like a totally different city - everyone's in athleisure and the bars close at 11 instead of 3am. Anybody else feel like you're leaving a whole social life behind when you move neighborhoods in Chicago?

Oh gosh, I feel this one. I did the exact same move back in 2017 after my landlord sold the building and the new owners jacked up everything. What nobody talks about enough is how your whole daily rhythm shifts too. In Logan Square you could grab a late night slice at 2am and run into neighbors at the laundromat, but in Lincoln Park everyone seems to be in bed by 10pm. I started driving back to Logan just to see bands and hang with friends, and after a few months I realized I was spending more on gas than I saved on rent.

Feel that... Logan Square has a whole different energy after midnight that you just can't find over here.
