Appreciation post: that move to Logan Square I was super skeptical about

Moved to Chicago 6 months ago from a small town in Indiana and everyone told me Logan Square was too far from the loop and too pricey. I was dead set on living in Lincoln Park or Lakeview cause thats what I kept hearing about online. But my cousin whos been here a decade pushed me hard to check out Logan Square and I finally gave in after she showed me the rent prices for a 1 bedroom. Ended up finding a place near the California blue line stop for $1200 a month which is way less than what I was seeing in the north side neighborhoods. The commute to my job in the West Loop takes me 25 minutes door to door which honestly is faster than what my buddy pays $1600 for in Wrigleyville. I was wrong about the area being too far or not having enough going on. The food scene is legit and I can walk to like 5 different breweries. Anyone else have a neighborhood they slept on but ended up loving after moving there?

Actually the California stop is on the Logan Square branch, not the Blue Line itself.

Hmm, hold on, that's actually not quite right either. The California stop is definitely on the Blue Line itself, not just the Logan Square branch. The Logan Square branch is just a section of the Blue Line that runs from the Loop out to O'Hare, but California is right in the middle of that main line. It's the same trains and the same tracks, so it's all part of the Blue Line as a whole. I think you might be confusing it with the California stop on the Green or Pink Line, which are separate lines entirely.
