After 3 months checking out Lincoln Park vs Logan Square for apartments, Lincoln Park won by a mile
I was dead set on Logan Square for the food scene, but after timing my commute from each neighborhood to the Loop during rush hour, Lincoln Park saved me 20 minutes each way. Has anyone else found that parking situation varies wildly between neighborhoods?

Hold your horses on that commute time. Logan Square has the Blue Line which drops you right into the Loop in under 25 minutes most mornings. Meanwhile, Lincoln Park has the Brown and Red lines, but both can get backed up with delays around Fullerton and Belmont. Plus, that 20 minute savings might only apply during your exact window. Try leaving at 7:15am instead of 7:30 and you could hit completely different traffic patterns. As for parking, Logan Square has gotten easier with the new residential permit zones, while Lincoln Park is still a mess of neighbors fighting for spots on the street every evening. The food scene difference is real too, you can get a full dinner with drinks in Logan for what a sandwich costs in Lincoln Park.

The Blue Line has been pretty solid for me too, but those Logan Square trains can get packed by the time they hit California. I'd say give yourself an extra five minutes if you're getting on at Western or Kimball. Lincoln Park's Brown Line is actually worse in the winter when they run those four car trains and everyone's packed in like sardines. On the parking thing, I've had friends in Logan who still circle for 20 minutes on weekend evenings, but it's nothing compared to the Lincoln Park nightmare where people literally sit in their cars waiting for spots. The food difference is no joke either, I used to drop $40 on tacos and drinks in Lincoln Park and now I get the same quality in Logan for $25.

Has anyone actually timed that Blue Line ride lately? I gotta push back on the 25 minute claim, @kelly385, because I've been stuck for 35-40 minutes more than once during that morning window, especially when they switch to single tracking.
