TIL a simple thank you email can really change your week
I had a rough Monday where a project I led got some tough feedback, and I felt pretty down. On Wednesday, I sent a quick thank you note to a coworker who helped me out a few weeks ago, just because. She replied saying my note made her day and that she'd been having a hard time too. That small talk turned into us grabbing coffee on Friday and sharing some really good ideas for fixing the project. Has anyone else had a small, nice thing at work turn into something bigger?

Used to think that stuff was just fluff, but a quick chat like that once saved a whole client deal for me.

That's a huge save. What was the actual turning point in that quick chat? Like, did you find out they were stressed about a deadline, or was it something personal you connected on? I've seen deals fall apart over a missed detail that had nothing to do with the contract itself.

My last three deals closed with zero small talk.

Used to be all business myself until a client almost walked over a fee. A two minute personal call fixed it. Now I see the point.
