That time I accidentally pitched to a plant in the office
I was practicing my sales pitch in the break room at my job in Chicago last Tuesday, and I thought I saw a colleague standing by the window. I launched into my full spiel about our new software, complete with hand gestures and everything. Turns out it was a tall ficus tree with a jacket draped over it. My actual coworker walked in halfway through and just stared at me. Has anyone else done something this dumb while prepping for a presentation?

that ficus had no idea what hit it" - ha, yeah plants never see it coming. @the_fiona, was that thing already looking rough before you moved it, or did you just get tired of it blocking the window? I've got a monstera in my living room that I've been staring at sideways for weeks now, trying to decide if it's worth the fight to repot it or if I should just let it slowly die in that corner.

had no idea what hit it" - that's the thing though, ficuses are actually super dramatic. They'll drop every single leaf if you just look at them wrong, so chances are it was already plotting its own slow death long before you touched it. Probably just gave it the final push it was waiting for.
